The back seat of a Waymo vehicle caught on fire in the Mar Vista area early Friday just after 1 a.m.
In a statement, Waymo said safety is their top priority and they “condemn any form of vandalism to property.”

According to Waymo, the unoccupied vehicle was intentionally set on fire by a person when it was stopped on a street.
Firefighters arrived on scene to put out the flames. They were able to put it out before it reached the car battery, but they had to pull out part of the back seat to stop the fire.
No injuries were reported.
