Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass is taking LA28 on the road.

Friday morning she's in Oklahoma City to discuss two events that will be hosted in that city.

In an effort to use venues that already exist and keep costs down, two events of the LA28 games will be held 1,300 miles away.

One of these events is softball, which is set to take place at Devon Park.

Oklahoma City is where USA softball headquarters are located as well as the USA Softball Hall of Fame.

The second event is Canoe Slalom, which is happening at the OKC Whitewater Center.

It hosted the 2024 Olympic trials and is an official U.S. Olympic training site.

The LA28 team tried to look for venues closer to the west coast but there are no Canoe Slalom venues
