WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - Next week, on Wednesday, Sedgwick County Commissioners will consider a proposal to consolidate tag offices at their meeting. Currently, there are two tag offices in Wichita, located at 2525 W. Douglas and 5620 E. Kellogg.
Sedgwick County Treasurer Brandi Baily is recommending consolidating the resources to the Douglas office and said the proposal comes at a time of limited resources and inadequate state funding for local tag offices.
"This move will save the county more than 350,000 per year," Baily said. "This is not an easy decision, but our hands are tied due to the lack of operational funding from the State of Kansas not covering our expenses."
