A teenage suspect is in custody in connection with the fatal shooting of a 13-year-old boy in Queens, law enforcement sources said Friday.
The 16-year-old suspect turned himself in to police with a lawyer, the sources said. No charges had been filed against him as of early Friday afternoon, according to the sources.
Police said 13-year-old Sanjay Samuel died at Cohen Children's Medical Center Wednesday, two days after he was shot in the head at a Dunkin' parking lot in Cambria Heights.
Sanjay was with his friends outside the coffee shop when someone on a scooter opened fire, according to police.
The NYPD said Sanjay was the intended target.
