The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) says two Halton police officers didn't commit criminal offenses when a man and a teen were "seriously injured" in a collision in Burlington, Ont.
The man, 24, and the teen, 16, sustained injuries including broken bones after striking a hydro pole after being chased by police.
The incident happened on May 27, when the Halton Regional Police Service got reports of home invasions in Oakville and Milton early in the morning.
Police got the description of a white vehicle, a Honda, that fled the scene of the second home invasion. A few moments later, patrol officers in Burlington spotted a vehicle and followed "northbound on Appleby Line," according to a report by SIU director Joseph Martino.
