PORT ORCHARD -- When South Kitsap High School students filled the home stands at Kitsap Bank Stadium on Thursday, Sept. 25, most were under the impression the school was practicing its evacuation plan.

Instead, there was a surprise in store for the Wolves.

Kitsap Bank Stadium could be in line for a seven-figure upgrade as part of a nationwide competition being held by T-Mobile. The school is one of 25 finalists in T-Mobile's Friday Night 5G Lights program, which is celebrating the unifying force of high school football in communities across the country. Competing against 2,700 schools nationwide, South Kitsap previously netted $5,000 as one of 70 schools in Washington to participate in the event.
