Fall fair season is upon us once again, bringing with it the sights, sounds and tastes that remind us of harvest time and rural community spirit. From livestock showcases to thrilling rides to homemade pies, these fairs offer something for everyone.

Among the many fairs held in Stratford and across Perth County over the years, the Elma Agricultural Fair stood out as one of the best in the district. Before 1890, the Elma Agricultural Fair was held in Newry. Organizers later set their sights on a new location in nearby Atwood.
