COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — An Ohio State University study has revealed that psychedelic-assisted therapy might have long-term benefits for people suffering from depression.

The results were published this month in the “Journal of Psychedelic Studies,” according to a news release from Ohio State. Researchers revisited a clinical trial published in 2021 that involved 24 participants with major depressive disorder. At that time, the patients received two doses of psilocybin, the active psychedelic compound in “magic” mushrooms, combined with about 13 hours of psychotherapy.
