LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — University of Kentucky running back Jamarion Wilcox has been arrested and charged with first-degree sexual abuse, more than a month after a woman filed for a protective order alleging unwanted sexual contact at an off-campus apartment.

Wilcox was taken into custody Friday and booked into the Fayette County Detention Center, according to jail records. He had been suspended from the football team since the beginning of the season for what UK head coach Mark Stoops described at the time as a violation of team rules.

On Aug. 20, a 19-year-old woman filed for an emergency protective order alleging that Wilcox engaged in non-consensual conduct while visiting her apartment. The order was granted by a judge the same day, and a follow-up hearing was held Sept. 3. The prot
