The Alabama State Board of Pharmacy violated the state open meetings act when it held a closed session to discuss a termination settlement with the board’s former executive secretary, the Examiners of Public Accounts found.
The BOP was cited for a lack of transparency because it documented the settlement with only a case number in its minutes, not disclosing that it was a termination agreement involving a payment with public funds.
The BOP also sent incorrect information about the meeting to the governor, the examiners reported.
