Riverton Library has been turned into a permanent hub for creativity.

The temporary Makerspace is set to reopen as a permanent library fixture providing access to equipment for 3D printing, laser cutting, sewing, crafting and electronics.

Opening celebrations on Saturday, October 4, from 10am to 1pm, will include demonstrations on the CRICUT, laser cutter and 3D printers, example projects, as well as balloons and popcorn.

The Makerspace will be open for public use Mondays to Saturdays for people aged 16 and over. Adults who have completed an induction may also bring children aged 12 to 15 into the space, provided they are supervised at all times.

People will need to be a member of Riverton Library to use the Makerspace, and inductions are required for some of the equipment.
