COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Goodwill of the Southern Rivers has awarded nearly $200,000 in scholarships to local students across its 50 - county territory.

According to Goodwill officials, 399 students were awarded $500 scholarships this year through the Goodwill Round Up Scholarship.

The initiative was made possible through the generosity of donors and shoppers who round up their totals at the registers.

“Every dollar rounded up at the register is a direct investment into someone’s future. By offering these scholarships, we are helping educational aspirations be more accessible to hundreds of local students,” said Goodwill Southern Rivers President & CEO Jack Warden.
