New Delhi: India produced a phenomenal batting effort to notch up the first 200-plus total in Asia Cup 2025 after Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma sizzled with the bat to help the side score 202 against Sri Lanka on Friday.

In the last Super Four clash, which is a dead rubber, India fine tuned its teething issues in the batting department as they lost just five wickets enroute scripting the highest individual score in an innings in the competition’s 2025 edition.

Abhishek was once again the backbone of the innings as he got his team off to a flier bringing up his third successive fifty in the edition. He added a 50-plus runs stand with skipper Suryakumar Yadav (12) after India lost vice-captain Shubman Gill early in the innings for just 4 runs.
