Longmont is looking for volunteers to serve on the Historic Preservation Commission. It’s specifically seeking local, working professionals in the fields of archaeology, architecture, construction, cultural anthropology, cultural geography, development, history, law, planning or real estate, according to a news release.
The Historic Preservation Commission works to preserve, conserve and protect buildings, objects, landscapes or other artifacts of historical significance, according to the city’s website.
The application deadline is Oct. 17. There are five vacancies, with four regular member positions open and one alternate member. Board members must be registered to vote in the city of Longmont for at least one year prior to appointment.
New board members will begin their terms in Janua
