The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Friday for the fourth consecutive day following a run of seven increases in eight days totaling 3.5 cents, decreasing two-tenths of a cent to $4.722.

The average price has dropped 1.9 cents over the past four days, including three-tenths of a cent Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 1 cent less than one week ago but 13.2 cents more than one month ago and 16.1 cents higher than one year ago.

The average price has dropped $1.771 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.
