PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Monsoon storms brought bits of hail and flooded roads across the Valley late Friday morning.
The West Valley got hit first with monsoon thunderstorms and parts of Phoenix got heavy rain and pea-sized hail, too. Homeowners in north Scottsdale also got pummeled with hail.
A ground stop was issued for departures and arrivals at Phoenix Sky Harbor, but has since been canceled. A spokesperson with Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport says ten flights were diverted to other airports during the ground stops, but operations are back to normal.
The National Weather Service Phoenix has issued a flash flood and severe thunderstorm warning for a majority of the West Valley, including Glendale, Peoria and Surprise that lasts until 1:30 p.m.
