Merriam-Webster is revising and updating one of its popular dictionaries with the addition of 5,000 new words, including "dad bod" and "hard pass."

The 12th edition of "Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary" is the first update in 22 years and is being released on Nov. 18, with preorders now available, the Associated Press reported.

This latest version of the "Collegiate Dictionary" features enhanced word entries for readers to search, and over 20,000 new usage examples. All of the newly added words were already available on Merriam-Webster.com .
