BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - A Goose Creek man has been convicted by a Berkeley County jury in connection with a murder in 2019.

Karrington C. Holmes, 27, was sentenced by Judge Thomas Rode to 35 years in prison for murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime from the same incident, following a four-day trial, solicitor’s spokesperson Ashley Kay said.

On May 1, 2019, Rodney Middleton, the victim, was driving a semi-truck at 1:15 p.m. on U.S. Highway 52 in Goose Creek towards Moncks Corner. Holmes “cut off” Middleton in traffic and nearly caused a crash in Goose Creek at Central Avenue.

Holmes then tailed Middleton for three miles on U.S. Highway 52. Middleton pulled into the driveway of his employer’s equipment yard, where Holmes drove in behind him. Hol
