A notice requesting proposals for speed cameras on Barrington roads will be advertised next week.
In a recent message to the Barrington Times, Barrington Town Manager Phil Hervey wrote that the RFP will be listed in publications next week and that the proposals for speed cameras will be due back in early November. Hervey wrote that officials are hoping to discuss and possibly vote on the measure at the Barrington Town Council meeting in December.
The speed camera discussion started months ago in Barrington, after the police chief presented a report to the council that showed more than half of the vehicles driving past Barrington schools were exceeding the speed limit by at least 11 miles per hour.
