MARICOPA, AZ (AZFamily) — An armed fugitive was shot to death by the U.S. Marshals Service in Maricopa on Thursday night.

Investigators said he was spotted leaving a home and got into a car parked nearby. Task force members surrounded the car and that’s when he pulled out a gun, the U.S. Marshals Service said.

The fugitive was then shot and killed. His name has not been released. No law enforcement personnel were hurt.

Investigators said the suspect was wanted for a probation violation in connection with possession with intent to distribute.

No other information was released.

This is the 32nd shooting involving law enforcement outside of the Valley and the 62nd in the state overall in 2025.
