MIDDLESEX, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) - Vermont State Police said Thursday that a trooper had been driving north on Interstate 89 in the early hours of a rainy morning when his vehicle experienced a collision.

According to police reports, a bear left the center median of the highway and went into the path of Jae Farnum-Boylan's vehicle shortly south of Exit 9 near the Middlesex Park & Ride.

Trooper Farnum-Boylan was reported uninjured, but the police cruiser was moderately damaged. The condition of the bear was not reported.
