A 53-year-old man's death is being investigated as a homicide after his body was found near the Sacramento Marina, according to police.

The Sacramento Police Department said officers responded to a medical aid call around 2 p.m. on Sept. 21 in the 2700 block of Ramp Way. Fire crews arrived to the scene first and located a body, police said.

After an autopsy from the Sacramento County Coroner's Office, police were given information on Thursday that led in investigators to believe the man's death was a homicide. Homicide detectives have since taken over the investigation.

Police have still not identified a suspect.
