Winnipeg police say they have made the largest fentanyl seizure to date by the Drug Enforcement Unit after raiding an apartment in the West Broadway neighbourhood.

Pat Saydak said the unit began investigating a suspected drug trafficking operation in the area earlier this month. “As a result of the investigation, a man and a woman were arrested,” Saydak said. According to police, a traffic stop earlier in the investigation led to the discovery of 38 grams of fentanyl. A subsequent search warrant was executed on a suite in the 1-99 block of Furby Street. Inside, officers seized 134 grams of fentanyl with an estimated street value of $53,600 and five grams of unprocessed fentanyl valued at about $200,000. Police say th
