WAUSAU, Wis. (WFRV) - A 40-year-old Wisconsin man with five prior drug convictions was sentenced to eight years in prison for multiple charges stemming from drug trafficking as well as illegal possession of a firearm.
According to Chadwick M. Elgersma, Acting United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, Johntay Johnson was sentenced about three months after he pleaded guilty.
Johnson was identified as a cocaine trafficker through an investigation in December 2023 by the Central Wisconsin Narcotics Task Force. Between January and July 2024, a confidential informant purchased two ounces of cocaine from him seven times, six at his Wausau home.
On September 10, 2024, officials executed a search warrant at his home and found three guns, cocaine and marijuana in his bedroom,
