“We have been the place that welcomes everybody through their door first thing in the morning,” says Zuma owner Joel Friedman.

At Zuma, the people behind and in front of the counter have been at the forefront of a revival of Marshall.

“This was a very different place 24 years ago,” Friedman said. “Marshall was on the verge of becoming a ghost town, and that was kind of the attraction for me.”
