MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — WVU Medicine is celebrating the retirement of Teresa McCabe, who has dedicated nearly four decades to advancing healthcare and strengthening community life in the Eastern Panhandle.
A native of Middleway in Jefferson County, McCabe began her professional journey after graduating from Shepherd University in 1979. She first worked as an admissions counselor for the college, traveling across West Virginia and the Washington, D.C. area to recruit students. In 1986, she shifted into healthcare communications and marketing, serving at both WVU Medicine Berkeley Medical Center and Jefferson Medical Center before being named vice president of marketing and development for WVU Hospitals East in 2005. In April 2025, McCabe transitioned to a new role as president of the WVU
