CADDO PARISH, La. (KSLA) - In the early hours of September 26, a high-speed chase led to the arrest of a motorcyclist who attempted to evade law enforcement, according to Caddo Parish Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr.

Just after 12 a.m., Caddo Parish K9 Handler Deputy Vaitkus spotted two motorcycles committing multiple traffic violations at the intersection of North Market and North Port Boulevard. When the deputy attempted to stop them, both motorcyclists sped away northbound at going over 100 mph, CPSO officials said.

A rider, later identified as 25-year-old Logan C. Smith, crashed while making a high-speed turn onto LA Hwy 173 South. After the crash, Smith tried to pick up his motorcycle but eventually abandoned it and walked directly toward Deputy Vaitkus. CPSO officials said despite clear
