SYDNEY, Neb. (KSNW) — A Nebraska community says they have a serious problem in a public park.

The City of Sidney, located along Interstate 80 in the Nebraska Panhandle, reports that geese at a local park have become aggressive and have attacked several guests. The wild geese have made their home in Legion Park, a nearly 10-acre park located on the city's southwest side, which is also home to multiple athletic fields and the city's aquatic center.

The city says they have consulted with Nebraska's wildlife department, which conducted an assessment of the situation. The wildlife department has informed the town that relocating the geese is not a viable option.

The department has determined that the geese have become domesticated at the park and would only return if moved away from Sydney.
