OBERLIN, Kan. (KSNW) -- A Kansas sheriff says a child brought home a suspected drug pipe that they say they found on a school playground.
The Decatur County Sheriff's Office says it happened Thursday when a parent came to the sheriff's office in Oberlin, reporting that they had found what appeared to be a drug pipe in their child's backpack. The parents told police that their son had said he had found it on the playground.
Sheriff David Wachendorfer says the small glass pipe has what appears to be a filter, and there was brown residue inside. He says preliminary testing shows a possible presence of a controlled substance, but stressed the results are not conclusive and lab testing will be needed to confirm.
