UEFA is set to make a decision next week about banning Israel - a move that could impact Aston Villa 's Europa League fixture against Maccabi Tel Aviv in November.

After a UN Commission of Inquiry concluded that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza, a panel of United Nations advisers has since called on FIFA and UEFA to suspend the Middle East nation.

According to The Times , a final decision is expected to be made in the coming days about suspending Israel, with most members of UEFA's executive committee understood to be in favour of a ban.

It's added that UEFA is planning to launch an emergency executive committee meeting next week to vote on the issue and that a large majority of members and federations are behind the suspension.
