LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Kawasaki Rail Car Lincoln Inc. announced on Friday a significant production milestone achieved at its Lincoln manufacturing facility: the completion of the company’s 3,500th rail car.
According to Kawasaki, the 3,500th passenger rail car marks the cumulative number of subway and commuter cars produced at the Lincoln factory since 2001. The passenger rail cars are tailored to the specific operational needs for public transit authorities for major cities in the U.S. northeast corridor.
The current production is the R211 subway car for New York City Transit.
