LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — Las Vegas Metro Police say a person was detained at a middle school as it’s under lockdown following a social media threat.

“Our top priority is to ensure your child is safe at school and to keep you informed of important matters happening within our school community,” said Principal Deborah Thaggard.

According to school officials, Roy W. Martin Middle School received a social media threat. The Clark County School District Police is at the scene and investigating. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is also assisting.

According to LVMPD, there were reports of an armed individual at the school, and one person has been detained. There are no reported injuries, and police say there’s no longer a threat to the school.
