BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - For the 7th year in a row, riders will tighten their tennis shoes and put on their helmets to tackle a multi-mile bike ride in memory of a former EBR councilman.

Anthony ‘Buddy’ Amoroso was riding his bike in St. Francisville back in 2018 when he and a friend were hit by a vehicle coming up behind them.

Amoroso, a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, was serving his second term on the East Baton Rouge Parish Metro Council when he was killed in that tragic bicycle crash.

He was 61 years old.
