Mahoning Valley - Akron Children's is bringing its world class care to more local communities.
The hospital, in partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities, is launching a mobile care unit.
The state-of-the-art traveling medical clinic is designed to improve access to pediatric primary care services for children in under-served areas in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana Counties.
"Now, transportation shouldn't be as much of a barrier for kids getting to us and we can bring these services to them," Akron Children's Mahoning Valley Enterprise Vice President Paul Olivier said.
Walk-ins will be welcome for check-ups, immunizations, health screenings and referrals to medical specialists as needed.
The mobile clinic will launch officially in November.
