Thursday was the 68th anniversary of the Little Rock Nine ’s integration of Little Rock Central High School in 1957, and to commemorate that day, four out of the original nine students spoke on a panel at Philander Smith University to reflect on their experience and offer lessons for modern day America.

Elizabeth Eckford, Carlotta Walls LaNier, Terrence Roberts and Minnijean Brown-Trickey spoke at an event hosted by the university, the city of Little Rock, the Jefferson National Parks Association, the Little Rock Police Department, the Arkansas Association of Black Psychology Professionals and the National Parks Service.
