MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCBD) – A Berkeley County government leader is facing felony charges after investigators say he used a stolen credit card to make purchases across the Lowcountry.

Marion Turner, who served as chairman of the Berkeley County Planning Commission, is charged with one count of financial transaction card theft and four counts of financial transaction card fraud.

Victim Jamie Dangerfield said his wallet went missing earlier this month while he and his family were in the process of moving. At first, he thought he had misplaced it.

“After a couple of weeks, I started seeing charges pop up on my account. That’s when I knew someone had my wallet,” he said.
