GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - The Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame are honoring a former player as part of the legacy series.

Arnie Herber was a 1928 graduate of West High School and Packers quarterback from 1930 to 1940. Herber is recognized as Pro Football’s first great long-ball passer and was the first player in league history to top one thousand passing yards in a season.

He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1966.

Herber’s bust was unveiled Friday at Green Bay West on the grounds of the newly renovated Del Marcelle Stadium with his family excited to celebrate his accomplishments.
