Oklahoma City police release new information on Thursday in the investigation of an officer-involved shooting that took place early Wednesday morning in southwest Oklahoma City.

Police have identified the man involved as 45-year-old Jason Redshirt. His family shared a photo of him and says he remains hospitalized after being shot in the upper body.

According to police, officers responded to a disturbance call just after 3 a.m. in the 3000 block of SW 64th Terrace. When they arrived, they found Redshirt yelling outside his home. A sergeant with 10 years of service attempted to calm him down, but police say Redshirt shouted profanity and racial slurs at the officer before becoming increasingly aggressive.
