WASHINGTON — Texas state leaders may want to move the Space Shuttle Discovery from its home in Virginia to Houston, but Virginia Senate Democrats and their allies are moving to block it.

They say that although President Trump’s so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” earmarked $85 million for the move from the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center of the Smithsonian Institution’s National Air and Space Museum in Chantilly to Space Center Houston, that may be just a fraction of the total cost.
Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine, along with Mark Kelly (AZ) and Dick Durbin (IL), are leading a fight to block the move.
