A legendary rapper, actor and producer from the Bay State will be working in Shrewsbury in October.
Mark Wahlberg will film scenes for his upcoming movie, Weekend Warriors, near Grafton Street in the Central Massachusetts town on Oct. 8, according to Mark Fitzgerald, a location manager who spoke on behalf of Apple Studios.
Fitzgerald told the town’s select board about Wahlberg’s new movie during its Sept. 23 meeting .
The select board approved closing the area near 708 Grafton St. from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 8 for the filming.
“It’s a great story,” Fitzgerald said to the board. “Mark plays a long-haul trucker whose son has autism, and they do a bunch of road trips to bond. They go to all the NBA arenas.”
