Crews Friday battled a non-injury fire that burned two unoccupied homes near the Foothill (210) Freeway in Pasadena.
The blaze was reported at 7:40 a.m. Friday in the area of Maple Street and Marengo Avenue, according to the Pasadena Fire Department.
Heavy smoke and flames were visible at the two residences when the first fire fighters and Pasadena Police Department officers arrived at the location.
The blaze was upgraded to a second-alarm fire, but crews were able to extinguish the flames in 20 minutes, according to fire department spokeswoman Lisa Derderian.
