COLUMBUS, Ohio — The superintendent of Northridge Local Schools, Brian Blum, says trust is one of their core principles.

"Parents entrust us with their most precious items in the world every day, and you can’t take that lightly," he said.

And this week, Blum said they had to prove it after a man allegedly made a threatening comment about one of their school resource officers.

"There was a meeting that happened at the school on Tuesday and from there, we reported to our SRO what was said. So that was the initial start of this whole process for us," he said.

As a precaution Blum chose to close schools on Thursday.

"There was no way I wanted to put our students and staff and our parents at risk coming onto our campus with the information that was shared. No way," he said.
