SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Governor Brian Kemp made a stop in Savannah Friday to give remarks on the state’s tourism industry during the annual Governor’s Tourism Conference at the Savannah Convention Center.

During the keynote speech, Kemp said the state welcomed 174.2 million visitors in 2024, marking its third consecutive record-setting year for tourism.

Those visitors contributed to an estimated $82 billion economic impact, making tourism the second largest industry in the state.

For the fifth year in a row, Georgia also ranked among the top five states for visitation.
