JASPER, Ala. —

School leaders in Jasper are monitoring a case of tuberculosis. Jasper high school posted about it on social media on Friday, indicating the case involved a student who attends the school. Tuberculosis is one of the world's leading infectious disease killers. But it's also highly treatable. And while it's very contagious, in the U.S. it's typically spread in enclosed environments like in a jail or prison. State health leaders say it's very unlikely you could be exposed by attending an outdoor event like a high school football game.
