Atlético Dallas , an expansion USL Championship franchise, is searching for a new location for its team headquarters after the city of Garland pulled support for a soccer complex this week.

Garland Mayor Dylan Hedrick told NBC-5 the city did not believe it would receive enough return on the taxpayer investment for a nearly $71 million project that included the $20 million headquarters and training facility for Atlético, along with eight community soccer fields, and space for mixed-use residential and retail.

"I understand the disappointment, I'm a big soccer fan myself," Hedrick said Friday.
