The Redlands Optimist Club will host its two-day Oktoberfest the first weekend of October at Sylvan Park.

The Redlands Oktoberfest, now in its 14th year, is a family-friendly, Bavarian-themed event that offers a variety of foods, live music and, of course, beer for those over age 21.

Games such as Hammerschlagen, a nail-driving game, cornhole and axe throwing will be presented, as well as a beer stein-holding competition. The Kids Village will have bounce houses, face painting and hands-on crafts.

General admission for ages 21 and older is $10. Individuals under age 20 will be admitted free of charge. Beer and wine tickets are sold separately.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5 at Sylvan Park, 601 N. University St.
