These are just a few of the more than 100 people across North Carolina who were killed from a storm-related cause, as verified by state medical examiners.
Hibbert, 65, a truck driver working on Helene recovery efforts, crashed his truck in Old Fort.
Russell, 66, and Charlene, 70, were staying in their camper along the North Toe River at Buck Hill Campground near Newland when Tropical Storm Helene ripped through the region, wiping out the campground.
Carroll , 38, died in an accident along U.S. 19 E
