Two suspects are being sought after an attempted arson caused around $25,000 worth of damage to a popular Oakville movie theatre during Thursday’s early morning hours.

At around 5:20 a.m. Sept. 25, two masked individuals arrived at Film.ca Cinemas , approached the front entrance and began dousing the area with a flammable liquid, Const. Jeff Dillon, Halton police media officer, said.

One suspect then ignited the fire, at which point both fled the area.

The fire ultimately extinguished itself before spreading to the rest of the building.

Dillon said no injuries have been reported in connection with this incident.
