The Centre Friday released Rs 540 crore under the August-November instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme to beneficiaries in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Uttarakhand, which were recently hit by floods.

The Rs 2,000 instalment was released by Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan .

“This instalment has been specially prioritised for the farmers… who have been severely affected by recent floods and landslides,” the Agriculture Ministry said.

Under the scheme, the government provides those eligible `6,000 in three equal instalments paid in four-monthly cycles — April-June, August-November and December-March.
