A Pueblo man was sentenced to 78 years in the Colorado Department of Corrections on Sept. 26 for fatally shooting his nephew and attempting to murder his nephew's girlfriend and parents in 2023.
William Montoya, 49, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the death of Marcos Baca, as well as three counts of attempted second-degree murder. He was sentenced to 48 years for the murder charge as well as 10 years for each count of attempted murder, to be served consecutively.
